Align and Shine
This is a mindful, core-centered, alignment-based, hatha yoga class. Alicia will joyfully guide the class through movements biomechanically designed to attain optimal physical alignment. This firm foundation of skillful alignment, helps to clear imbalances and misalignments, allowing the practitioner to potently feel their inner brightness. Align and Shine aims to weave the sacred with a sense of humor and will challenge you to work hard while inviting you to stay mindful and grounded in your foundation. In an alignment-based class, poses are typically held much longer than in other schools of yoga so that students can become more comfortable with yoga and the various postures.Themes consistent throughout the year are proper alignment, mindfulness, linking breath to movement, and modification of the practice to suit each student's particular needs. This class will provide a safe space where students, of any level, can expect to sweat as much as they can expect to laugh. All levels welcomed.
Core Vinyasa
This class combines the flowing style of vinyasa with an emphasis on strengthening the core. Build purifying energy, core and back strength, and awareness of what it means to come from your "core center of being!" All levels welcomed.
Hatha Mixed Level
Slower paced than vinyasa, a Hatha class more deeply explores the alignment, awareness, and breath of each posture and its effects on all aspects of the practitioner--physically, mentally, and emotionally. Each class includes physical postures, or asana, deep relaxation, breathing practices and mediation, which can be practiced by students of any age and physical ability. Modifications will be given to match your skill level, as well as ways to advance to more challenging postures. Great for beginners with its emphasis on technique and alignment and for more advanced practitioners who want to slow down and deepen their understanding of themselves and the yoga postures.
Gentle Hatha
When you want to take your yoga a bit more gently, move more slowly, and stretch more deeply, this is the class for you! Each pose is explored in a way that is easeful and peaceful, at a pace that allows for a pause in between. This is Hatha Yoga experienced with a little more emphasis on the “tha” moon energy - soothing, cooling and calming. A practice for all levels who want a break from the pace of life, and older yogis who just want to be.

The heat encourages greater flexibility and detoxification. Some familiarity with basic yoga postures is necessary. Bring a towel, mat and water. All levels welcomed.
Heated Hour of Power
If you love the 90 minute class, but are short on time, join us for this 60 minute Heated Power Vinyasa class. Be prepared to sweat and energize in this class, shorter on time, but not on power!

Vinyasa Flow

Yin Restorative
The Taoist concept of Yin and Yang teaches that opposites work together, in harmony, to create balance. A full yoga practice includes both Yin and Yang yoga. Yang yoga places emphasis on activity and muscle movement, while Yin yoga focuses on slow, meditative movement to encourage deep release of connective tissue. This stimulates a healthy flow of energy in our bodies. Yin Restorative Yoga is a fusion of Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga that nurtures a profound release of tension physically, mentally, and emotionally. The use of cushions and blankets to support you in the poses is encouraged to help bring you to a place of deep peace. A calming Yin Restorative Yoga can take your Yang practice ever deeper. All levels welcomed.
Yin Yoga
A full yoga practice includes both Yin and Yang forms of yoga. Yang yoga emphasizes activity, and fully engaged muscle movement, while Yin yoga focuses on minimal relaxed movement to encourage deep release of connective tissue. This stimulates and improves the flow of energy (Chi or Prana) along the energy channels in our bodies (meridians or nadis). Also known as The Practice of Quiet Power, Yin Yoga is a strong, challenging practice, requiring extended holds of specific floor poses. It is based on the Taoist concept of opposites (Yin and Yang) working together to create balance and harmony. Balance and deepen your yoga practice by including Yin Yoga. All levels welcomed.

Yoga Immersion
Yoga Immersion is a 2 hour, alignment based class open to all students who wish to deepen their understanding of yoga, and required for students in the Spirit Tree Yoga Teacher Training. It offers a systematic and progressive study of yoga postures (asana) and breathwork (pranayama) and introduces the student to yoga philosophy and meditation as well. We spend 7-8 weeks on each of the posture groups or topics; for example, we begin in September with Standing Postures and the Sun Salutation, where the focus is on learning the foundational standing postures and progressively advancing to the more complex and physically demanding postures. See syllabus of dates and topics here.
This class will more deeply explore your relationship to your body and mind and is for students who have a regular yoga practice or for those who wish to establish a regular yoga practice. In order to really progress in your ability and strength, you will be asked to practice the postures we cover in class in your personal yoga practice. We will cover both hatha and vinyasa approaches to postures and breath work. One year of yoga practice is recommended before taking this class. Take the whole year of classes or take a session or two to learn the specific posture types.
